Eric: Have you seen my stick? (he was referring to his ice/snow scraper)
Me: Shouldn't you know where your stick is?
Eric: Pervert.
Me: You act like this is a surprise to you.
I've been really busy due to the holidays and traveling. But now that it's January things have finally settled down somewhat, nd I can now get back to my favorite hobby: knitting! I love it. It's so calming and I get to make things in the process! Currrently, I'm working on a scarf for Lydia, a wrap for Grandma, a pair of yellow mittens for Megan, and a pair of socks for brand new Baby Alexis! I will try to post pictures of my finished projects as I finish them. I'm hopefully going to start making something for myself. I have two ideas in mind: The"Shacket" or the "Heartwarmer" Hell, I may make them both! Maybe I won't so cold anymore!
Good lord I can't wait for football season to be OVER! I get so tired of hearing about the games and stupid piddly shit about the games that NO ONE really cares about except the people talking a bout it.
I heard this song today and it made me think of Lydia:

Plumb- In My Arms
Your baby blues
So full of wonder
Your curlicues
Your contagious smile
And as I watch
You start to grow up
All I can do is hold you tight
Knowing
Clouds will rage and
Storms will race in
But you will be safe in my arms
Rains will pour down
Waves will crash all around
But you will be safe in my arms
Story books
Are full of fairy-tales
Of kings and queens
And the bluest skies
My heart is torn just in knowing
You'll someday see
The truth for lies
When the
Clouds will rage and
Storms will race in
But you will be safe in my arms
Rains will pour down
Waves will crash all around
But you will be safe in my arms
Castles they might crumble
Dreams may not come true
But you are never all alone
Cause I will always
Always love you
Hey I
Hey I
Will love
Clouds will rage and
Storms will race in
But you will be safe in my arms
Rains will pour down
Waves will crash all around
But you will be safe in my arms
In my arms
In the 3 years that I have been a mom there are many skills that I have picked up that no one ever told that I would need to know.
-Stuffed animal surgery
-Furniture repair
-Small electronics repair
-Child psychology
-the patience of Buddha
-How to take embarrassing comments made by your children with grace
-How to carry on a phone conversation and a conversation witn your child at the same time
- Silence = something BAD is happening
-"Uh oh, Mommy" = catastrophe
I saw comic on Sunuday and it is a sad commentary on the current condition of this nation and sadly, my own life.

Well Beth's gift became a scarf instead of a wrap because Lydia decided that she wanted to "help" mommy and pulled one of the needles out and screwed up a whole row. Sooo I had to start over and make a scarf in 3 days, resulting in me injuring my wrist and it spent the weekend wrapped in an Ace bandage.
Lord, I hope this week is lees chaotic, but I am seriously doubting it will happen because it is Bridge festival week, or as I like to call it, a little slice of Hell!
I need a vacation, BADLY!!!
I needs the coffee to keep going! I screwed up my kniting last night by dropping a stich (dammit to hell!) so I said eff it and I ripped it out and started over, again! I hope to have my wrap made by next tuesday so I can give to Beth as a birthday gift. We shall see.
Now on to the coffee...

Last week, while traveling to Chicago on business, I noticed a Marine sergeant traveling with a folded flag, but did not put two and two together. After we boarded our flight, I turned to the sergeant, who'd been invited to sit in First Class (across from me), and inquired if he was heading home.
I am proud to be a granddaughter of a WWII veteran and the wife to a OIF veteran. If you see a veteran in your daily travels, please stop and thank them for their service to this country and for all they sacrificed in order for us to enjoy the freedoms that we have.
